It will be great to see Rahul married: Priyanka

Priyanka Gandhi feels that her brother Rahul should take the matrimonial plunge.

Rahul Gandhi has not shown any sign yet he is going to shed his eternal bachelor tag soon but younger sister Priyanka says it would be “great” to see the scion of the Nehru-Gandhi family tie the knot.

Priyanka feels her 38-year-old brother should take the matrimonial plunge for that would lessen her “burden” as she does his little chores at home.

Priyanka’s response came when reporters asked whether she would like to see Rahul as a prime minister or a married man.

“Definitely Rahul Gandhi as a brother. As a married man would be great because that would take some of the burden off me because I end up doing all his little chores at home. So that would be great,” she said.

About seeing Rahul as a prime minister,Priyanka said,”as a prime minister I have no such ambition(for him). I mean if he does become one day,I’ll be very happy for him. But it is not something we hope for.”

During another interaction with reporters,Priyanka said said Rahul,who is contesting from Amethi,is qualified to be the Prime Minister,but Manmohan Singh will assume the post again if Congress wins the Lok Sabha polls.

“I have full faith in my brother. He is hardworking.

He means well. He is,according to me,qualified….

So,one day he will. He will do a good job of it,” she said,when asked whether she thought her brother was qualified enough to hold the top post,” Priyanka said.

Showering wholesome praise on Rahul,a doting Priyanka said,” my brother would prosper regardless of me. He is very good at what he has done. He is very dedicated and he has a vision which I don’t think I would ever have. He thinks of the future and his mind goest in that direction.”

Priyanka’s sisterly instincts also came to the fore when she said she wished to see her brother winning with more votes than her mother Sonia Gandhi. Priyanka is campaigning for her mother in Rae Bareli and Rahul in Amethi.

“I am the younger sister of Rahul,so I want that he should win with a little more votes,” she quipped.

Asked whether she had observed any difference between the political style of her father Rajiv Gandhi and that of Rahul,Priyanka said,”Ideology of both of them is the same and Rahul is striving hard to fulfill the dream of our father Rajiv Gandhi”.
