‘Incomplete’ Independence Day says Ramdev

1% people of country capturing constitutional systems have made 99% population slave: Ramdev

Yoga Guru Ramdev on Monday described the Independence Day as “incomplete”,and said only one per cent of population has enslaved the whole country.

“Only one per cent of people of the country capturing the constitutional systems have made the 99 per cent population as slave and so the on Monday’s Independence is incomplete,” Ramdev said.

He called for a change in the policies drafted by Britishers and asked to scrap the “draconian laws” enacted during the British raj.

“The fast track courts should complete the trial of the cases related to corruption in 3 to 6 months and give death penalty or life imprisonment to people if they are found guilty,” he said.

Extending his support to Anna Hazare in his fight against corruption,Ramdev, however, refused to say anything when asked whether he would travel to Delhi for the cause. In his regard,he alleged that Centre is presenting every democratic movement as “undemocratic”.

Ramadev writes to PM: Don’t allow repeat of June 4 crackdown

As confrontation between the Hazare and government escalated after police denied permission to the gandhian for holding a fast from tomorrow to press for a strong Lokpal Bill,Ramdev,in his letter to the Prime Minister, said such protests should not be “crushed” through unconstitutional and undemocratic means.

“We would expect that you will exercise self-restraint and not allow a repeat of what happened against us on the midnight of June 4 at the Ramlila maidan,” the yoga guru said.

Delhi Police’s refusal of permission coincided with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s strong remarks in his Independence Day speech that hunger strikes and fasts-unto-death do not help address the problem of corruption and Parliament is the only body to form legislations to curb the menace.

Ramdev in his letter to the PM reiterated his demand for bringing back the black money stashed abroad under UN convention against corruption and declaring it as national asset.
