The second cut-off list announced by Delhi University on Sunday showed that several sought-after courses Commerce,English and Economics still remained open for DU aspirants.
Of the total 55 colleges offering Commerce as the main discipline,11 have closed admissions. But,top colleges such as Hindu,Hansraj,Kirori Mal,Lady Shri Ram and Ramjas,are still taking in students. Shri Ram College of Commerce has closed Commerce admissions for the general category.
Seats in Economics are still up for grabs in 44 of the 55 colleges offering the course this year. At SRCC,the cut-off for general category for Economics is 97.25 per cent a 0.25 per cent drop.
According to the second list,admissions in English is open in 39 colleges,which include Hindu,Hansraj,Indraprastha and Miranda House.
While in most colleges,cut-offs have seen only a marginal dip,some have lowered figures by around 10 per cent. One of them,Sri Aurobindo College,has lowered its History cut-off from 90 per cent to 68. The cut-off for Political Science has dropped by 18 per cent and stands at 72 per cent.
The BTech course in Computer Science at Ram Lal Anand College remains unchanged at 95 per cent while at least 10 colleges have closed admissions in the course. The maximum dip among the BTech courses is at Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences,which has reduced the cut-off in Food Technology and Instrumentation by six per cent and Electronics by four.

Sri Aurobindo college saw the maximum dip in cut-off with percentages plummeting from 90 to 78 per cent for Chemistry.
Hansraj and Hindu,the colleges with the highest science cut-offs in the first list,have seen a marginal drop in percentages. Physics at Hansraj dipped from 97 to 95.66,while Chemistry dropped to 95.33 from 97. At Hindu,the Physics cut-off dropped from 96.66 to 96 per cent; for Mathematics it was 95.75 per cent from the original 96.5.
