A way out could be found to end the stalemate in Parliament over the Opposition demand for a JPC probe into 2G scam with a discussion in the Lok Sabha under a rule that entails voting,Congress sources said. After disrupting Parliament for over a week over 2G Spectrum allocation scam, the Opposition is sending feelers to the ruling Congress that it wants discussion on the issue under rule 184,the sources claimed. The move could be significant as it comes a day before Leader of the Lok Sabha Pranab Mukherjee hosts a luncheon meeting with over two dozen leaders of various parties, including the BJP and the Left,to end the deadlock. Sources said that leaders of all the major parties have been invited for the meeting during which the government will make an appeal to them to allow Parliament to function as both Houses have not been able to transact any business in last more than a week since the winter session commenced. The purpose of the meeting is to resolve the deadlock through "mutual consultations",a leader said. The meeting is happening even as the government has ruled out constitution of a Joint Parliamentary Committee to look into the 2G issue saying it will not serve the purpose and maintaining that the matter should be left to Public Accounts Committee, which is competent to examine the CAG report into the matter.
