Crew member killed after fall from helicopter

In a freak accident,a crew member fell to his death when the door of a helicopter flung open while flying over Namsai in Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh.

In a freak accident,a crew member fell to his death when the door of a helicopter flung open while flying over Namsai in Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh today.

The door of the MI-172 Pawan Hans chopper suddenly opened following which crew member Dhananjoy Roy fell from a height,five minutes after the chopper took off from Namsai,airline sources said.

Officials are investigating as to how the incident happened,police sources said.

The 24-seater helicopter,on Itanagar-Mohanbari-Namsai-Teju-Hayuliang route,was carrying four crew members and five passengers,the sources said.

The body of the 40 year-old victim has been recovered and is being brought back to Itanagar by helicopter.
