Boundary row: Chavan to lead all-party delegation to PM

In the backdrop of the Supreme Court hearing the Maharashtra-Karnataka boundary dispute case,Chief Minister Ashok Chavan today said he would lead an all-party delegation to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on July 14 on the issue.

In the backdrop of the Supreme Court hearing the Maharashtra-Karnataka boundary dispute case,Chief Minister Ashok Chavan today said he would lead an all-party delegation to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on July 14 on the issue.

Addressing a press conference,Chavan said the Prime Minister has convened a meeting on Chief Ministers and Home Ministers on the Naxal issue on July 14 in Delhi.

“I have sought an appointment with the PM to convey the strong sentiments of the people of Maharashtra to him on the boundary dispute. I will take Opposition leaders and central ministers from the state also as members of the delegation,” he said.

Chavan said the PMO has given appointment on July 14.

“The timings will be conveyed to me soon,” he said.

He said the prime minister was aware of the seriousness and sensitivity of the issue.
