A massive encounter with terrorists is underway in Saimouh village in Tral, Jammu and Kashmir. Three militants are holed up in the area, said officials. An operation by the security forces is underway to flush the militants out. Officials believe one of the holed up militants could be Hizbul Mujahideen commander Sabzar Ahmad. The encounter began 9 pm Friday night when security forces and militants had a brief gunfight in the village, four kilometres from Tral town. The Army and the CRPF later laid a cordon around the village. Protests are underway at a neighbouring village of Ratsuna where a civilian was injured when police fired pellets during a protest. In a separate incident, four militants were gunned down as the Army foiled an infiltration bid in Rampur district. This story will be updated when more details emerge.
