J&K: Encounter underway between security forces, Hizbul militants in Tral

A fierce encounter broke out on Saturday between security forces and Hizbum Mujahideen militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Tral area of Pulwama district. Security forces have started search operations and cordoned off the area where five top militants of the group were holed up even. Meanwhile the Army was deployed to carry out combing operations.

In the meantime, a curfew has been imposed in this area even as protesters had gathered near the encounter site. According to reports in PTI, nearly half of the house was brought down by the security forces but the assailants kept firing on them. Slain militant Burhan Wani, poster boy of banned Hizbul Mujahideen terror outfit, belongs to this area.
