A day after the Congress expelled Acharya Pramod Krishnam for six years for “repeatedly making statements against the party”, he “thanked” senior leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and K C Venugopal for “relieving him”, and questioned which of his statements were against the Congress.
“Which of my activities are against the party? When did they get to know about these activities? Is taking Lord Ram’s name anti-party? Is going to Ayodhya anti-party? Was attending the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at Ram Janmabhoomi anti-party? Is meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi anti-party?” Krishnam asked, according to ANI.

He added, “I want to thank the Congress for freeing me from the party.”
Krishnam, who contested the 2019 Lok Sabha polls from Lucknow on a Congress ticket but lost, recently praised PM Modi for the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, and flayed the Congress leadership for skipping the event.
“In view of complaints about indiscipline and repeatedly making statement against the party, Congress president has approved the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee’s proposal to expel Shri Pramod Krishnam for six years with immediate effect,” read a statement issued by party general secretary (organisation) K C Venugopal.
