On a day when Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his deputy,Sukhbir Singh Badal met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seeking clemency for Khalistan terrorist Devinderpal Singh Bhullar,SAD’s alliance partner BJP reiterated that the Supreme Court order on Bhullar should be respected.

“SAD and BJP are two different parties. We share common viewpoints on a number of issues. But over certain issues, they (SAD) have their own view and we have our own. We should respect each other’s view,” state BJP chief Kamal Sharma said.

Claiming that BJP’s view on terrorism was consistent,he added: “Terrorism has no caste or religion. Whosoever wages war against unity and integrity of the nation should be brought to book. We should all respect the apex court order on Bhullar… BJP will not support SAD in the proposed mercy petition for Bhullar.”

He added: “People should also welcome Punjab government’s move to seek paramilitary forces to maintain law and order in the state.”
