Under ‘exam pressure’,DU student kills self

A Delhi University student allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in his rented accommodation in North Delhi’s Vijay Vihar area. The student,identified as Samiran Sethia,who hails from Assam,was found hanging in his room on Saturday morning,police said.

Sethia was a student of B Sc (Hons) Botany at Hindu College. He was staying with three others. “It appears that Sethia was under pressure due to an examination,which lead him to the extreme step. He had an exam on Friday,for which he had been preparing for a long time,” said a police official. No suicide note was recovered from the spot.
