Teacher gets 3-year jail for molesting girl student

A fine of Rs 9,000 has been imposed on both to be given to the victim as compensation.

A fast-track court sentenced a teacher of a renowned Raipur school to three-year imprisonment for molesting a girl. Justice Nidhi Sharma Tiwari on Friday also handed a one-year jail to the principal of Holy Cross Senior Secondary School for not taking action against the teacher following the complaint.

A fine of Rs 9,000 has been imposed on both to be given to the victim as compensation. The incident took place in October 2013  when the sports teacher of the school, Saroj Sahu passed an obscene comment on a Class X student.
