Delhi Metro chief E Sreedharan inspected stations on the Badarpur line that provides connectivity to Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium to see for himself the preparations to control rush during the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games. Sreedharan,who personally monitored the movement of trains on the Central Secretariat-Badarpur line on October 3 on the opening ceremony of the Games,today visited the JLN Stadium and Jangpura stations. "He saw for himself the arrangements that have been made specially for the closing ceremony of the Games. He went around the stations to see the arrangements," a DMRC spokesman said. DMRC has put up special signages and stickers at the JLN Stadium,Jangpura and Jor Bagh stations to facilitate free movement of people to the stadium. On the opening ceremony on October 3,there were glitches in train movement and people complained that there were no proper signages and not enough volunteers to help them. DMRC had also deployed more than 150 additional personnel comprising Customer Facilitation Agents (CFAs),guards and volunteers at Central Secretariat,Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and Jangpura Metro stations to guide the commuters. A team of senior officers headed by DMRC's Director (Operations) Raj Kumar monitored the movement of trains from the Operational Control Centre of the Delhi Metro at Metro Bhawan. Announcements were made on trains asking ticket holders who will enter the stadium through gate no 9 to get down at Jangpura station and Gate 14 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Volunteers were also present in huge numbers to help people and people towards the entry gates of the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
