Soldier dies under mysterious circumstances in J&K

"After having his meals, the soldier went to his barrack where he fell unconscious," said an officer.

A soldier died under mysterious circumstances at the Army garrison in Ratnukchak area here, an officer said.

The soldier identified as Lokender Kumar (34) who was posted in the 3I Brigade, Ratnuchak was shifted to the Army hospital in an unconscious condition last evening.

Doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead, the army officer said.

“After having his meals, the soldier went to his barrack where he fell unconscious. He was shifted to the Army hospital where he was declared brought dead,” the officer added.

An inquiry has been initiated to ascertain the cause of death, he said.
