RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav
The Supreme Court on Monday issued notice to RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav on a CBI’s plea against dropping of certain charges in one of the FIRs by Jharkhand High Court in the fodder scam.
The High Court had on November 14 last year dropped the conspiracy charge against Yadav in a case related to the fodder scam on the ground that a person cannot be tried twice for the same offence.
The court, however, ruled that proceedings in two other sections of IPC would continue against the former Bihar chief minister.
The CBI had filed an appeal before the Supreme Court against the high court order.
The notice can be a setback for the RJD chief as Bihar goe for poll in October-November.
