Samastipur: Man’s eyes punctured, tongue slashed

Police said the attack took place at Mahra Chowk between Parodia and Hajpurwa village.

Police found an unidentified man with eyes punctured and tongue slashed at Warisnagar in Samastipur on Friday. The man, who is unable to identify himself, has been admitted to Samastipur Sadar Hospital where his condition is stated to be critical.
Police said the attack took place at Mahra Chowk between Parodia and Hajpurwa village under Warisnagar police station. They found the man lying with his blood stained face on the road and later admitted him to the hospital where doctors said one eye was completely punctured with a pointed object and another eye was 90 per cent damaged.

Warisnagar police station in-charge Rajnish Kumar said police had lodged a case against three unidentified persons on the basis of the victim’s gestures. Police suspected old enmity could be the reason behind the attack. “As long as the man is not identified, it is difficult to get any leads,” said the police officer, dismissing it as a case of any mob justice.
