Three unidentified persons snatched Rs 20.64 lakh from an elderly woman and her grandson near Sathiala village Wednesday. Beas SHO Harkishan Singh said Gurdeep Kaur was travelling on a motorcycle with her grandson Amolakdeep a resident of Kamoke village when three unidentified men on a bike snatched her bag with the money and fled. The money was to be paid for a land deal,he added. Amritsar (Rural) SSP Manmohan Singh said the land deal was worth nearly Rs 46 lakh. Registry had already been done after the women paid Rs 26 lakh, Singh said.
