Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi Saturday talked to Brijesh and Raju, sons of a daily wager from UP’s Pratapgarh who have cracked the IIT entrance test, and assured them of his support. “Spoke to Brijesh and Raju from Pratapgarh on their tremendous success against all odds,” Gandhi tweeted. [related-post] Later, HRD Minister Smriti Irani announced that IIT admission fees of the boys would be waived even as UP CM Akhilesh Yadav came out in their support. Their father was reportedly running from pillar to post to arrange Rs 1 lakh, the admission fees which has to be submitted by June 25.
