Pak asks India to avoid DNA-report goof ups
Pakistan said that the probe into the Mumbai terror strikes was a serious matter and it is imperative to avoid lapses like providing identical DNA reports for captured gunman Ajmal Amir Kasab and another terrorist killed in the incident.

Responding to reported remarks by Home Minister P Chidambaram that the possible goof-up in furnishing identical DNA reports of Kasab and Abu Ismail to Pakistan was a “minor clerical error”,Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit said “the investigation into the Mumbai terror attacks was a serious matter and it is imperative to avoid such lapses”.
Basit said in a statement that Islamabad has acknowledged comments by External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee “confirming that Indian authorities were examining the material received from Pakistan seeking further clarifications and evidence from India on April 13”.
Islamabad hoped that “New Delhi would respond accordingly,” he said.
He said the investigations by Pakistan into the Mumbai incident “are continuing with a view to bringing the perpetrators of the incident to justice”.
He also said the Pakistan government would appreciate it “if the Indian response to the clarifications sought is provided at the earliest”.
