A man and his paramour were arrested on Tuesday by the Haryana Police for murdering his two minor children. The accused,Ramu a resident of Fatehabad and his paramour Praveen killed the children on July 13 and threw the bodies in Bhattu canal in the district. The bodies were later recovered by the police. The two were produced in the court today,which sent Ramu to police custody and Praveen to judicial custody. Ramu killed Puneet,8,and Payal,7,by hitting them with a hammer. While Puneet was repeatedly hit on his head with the hammer,Payal was hit at her vital organs with the same tool. Praveen helped Ramu in executing the gory act, said Fatehabad DSP Shiv Charan Attri. Earlier,after the bodies were found,during investigation police came to know about the illicit relationship between Ramu and Praveen. Both had gone missing from their native village in Fatehabad. Finally they were arrested today and during their interrogation both confessed to the brutal murder of two innocent children. Ramu used to suspect his wife,Saroj,of having illicit relationship with another man of his locality. He had never loved his children because he always thought that he was not their father. For the last few months,he entered into a relationship with Praveen and wanted to get married to her. On July 12,both stayed together in Adampur Mandi and hatched the conspiracy of first eliminating his two children. The next morning,they both reached their native village and took the children to the Bhattu canal. They then hammered them to death,before throwing their bodies into the canal, the DSP said. He added: After the murders,Ramu filed a complaint with the police alleging that his children had gone missing. The bodies were subsequently recovered,following which a murder case was registered. Ramu stayed with his wife for a few days and then eloped with Praveen. They were traced on Tuesday. The two have been booked for murder,destroying evidence and criminal conspiracy.
