Stepping up its attack on Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje for her links with former IPL chief Lalit Modi, the Congress Tuesday requested President Pranab Mukherjee to sack her. A delegation led by Rajasthan Congress chief Sachin Pilot and party general secretary in charge of the state Gurudas Kamat reached Rashtrapati Bhavan and handed over a memorandum to Mukherjee seeking his intervention in the matter. “Vasundhara Raje has tried to protect a person who has been involved in several cases of corruption because of her personal relations with him. The Enforcement Directorate as recently as August 6 issued a warrant against Lalit Modi under the money laundering Act that proves the allegations of corruption against the former IPL chief,” read the memorandum. “By helping such a person, Raje has lost her moral right to remain in a Constitutional position because she has violated her oath,” it added. The memorandum also stated that there were several allegations against the chief minister, including those of illegally occupying a government property.
