Kerala: Nateshan cozying up to BJP to shield his corrupt deals, says CPM

As backward Hindu Ezhava outfit Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam is getting closer to the BJP, CPI (M) has further stepped up its attack on Yogam general secretary Vellappally Nateshan.

At a time when backward Hindu Ezhava outfit Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam is moving closer to the BJP, the CPM has stepped up its attack on Yogam general secretary Vellappally Nateshan.

Leader of Opposition V S Achuthanandan, himself an Ezhava, alleged on Wednesday that Nateshan is cozying up to the Sangh Parivar only to shield his corrupt dealings.

“In the past four years alone, Nateshan has pocketed Rs 100 crore as bribe from admissions and appointments in educational institutions run by SNDP Yogam and Sree Narayana Trust. He has insulted social reformer Sree Narayana Guru by taking bribe for appointments in institutions,’’ said Achuthanandan, while inaugurating an anti-communal campaign of the CPM at Kanichukulangara, Nateshan’s home town.

“Nateshan has taken money even from members of his own community. He should reveal where he stashed the bribe. Has he invested it in Swiss Bank,’’ asked Achuthanandan. The CPM leader said Nateshan was worried when PM Narendra Modi declared that the BJP government would bring back black money from Swiss Bank and was joining hands with the Sangh Parivar to cover his murky dealings.
