A personal security officer of a senior BJP leader on Wednesday allegedly threatened the Kashmir media in-charge of BJP Altaf Thakur with a gun during a meeting held at a hotel in the Valley. Thakur has already raised the issue with the top leadership of BJP. According to Thakur, he had asked the PSO of BJP’s Central Kashmir leader Ali Mohammed Mir to leave the room on Tuesday, as an important meeting, chaired by Member of Parliament and national executive member Shamshar Singh Manhas, was going on. “This morning, when another meeting began at the same place, where many other party leaders were busy discussing party-related issues, the PSO came to the room and threatened to kill me. After he loaded his gun, he pointed it towards me and ran after me,” he said. “He chased me to another room where I took cover under a table and he was overpowered by others including policemen,” he said. Thakur said that the PSO later left the place alongwith Mir. ‘’There is a CCTV recording the incident. I think I got a new life today.’’ Thakur said he had taken up the issue with party leadership.
