J&K CM Omar Abdullah and his ministers spent more than Rs 9 crore to renovate their bungalows and purchase furniture in the past two years, state government officials have said. They also spent Rs 9 crore on air travel on board the state’s two helicopters and one aircraft in the past two years, they added. Despite a blanked ban since 2009, the VIPs spent over Rs 1.43 crore on furniture. Nearly Rs 7.34 crore was spent on repair and renovation of their bungalows, including private ones. The highest amount — Rs 1.26 crore — was spent on the CM’s official residences.
