It’s an all-vegetarian banquet for PM Narendra Modi in Shanghai

The banquet hosted by Shanghai party secretary Han Zheng for Prime Minister Narendra Modi has an all-vegetarian fare. This is in keeping with PM Modi’s strict vegetarian diet.

Double boiled bean curd soup, stewed porcini, sauteed asparagus and lotus seed along with pancake with vegetable are some of the items on the menu at the banquet. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup had tweeted the menu earlier today.

For dessert, there is chilled mango sago cream with fresh fruits.

The banquet at Xi’an on the first day of PM Modi’s visit to China also kept to a vegetarian fare.
