The families of three persons,who were brutally murdered in Jind district of Haryana three years ago,on Friday refused to accept the compensation of Rs 1 lakh each given to them by the state government a few days ago.
Terming it as rubbing their wounds in the most inhumane manner,they refused to accept the compensation cheques and demanded that if state wants to help them,it should give the deceaseds relatives government jobs and at least Rs 10 lakh each as compensation.
The case dates back to May 10,2010. Three persons Rajesh,Rajbir and Balwan were killed while they were sleeping at their residence in Khokhri village.
Following the incident,Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda had reached the village time to pay his condolences to the family and assured that deceaseds relatives will be given government jobs and adequate financial compensation. After three years of the incident,Haryana government has now sent the compensation amount.
After about 18 months of the murders,prime accused Jia-ul-Haq was caught by the villagers when he attempted to commit another murder. He was later handed over to the police. There was a cash reward of Rs 2 lakh on his arrest,which was not paid to the couple,who caught him and handed him over to the villagers.
One of the deceaseds son,Rajesh,said: The chief minister should give government job to one person each from the families of the three deceased and also a compensation of Rs 10 lakh each so that they can live their lives.
