Rajasthan House was on Friday rocked for over two and half hours as both ruling Congress and Opposition BJP members locked their horns leading to three adjournments over the Gurjars quota bill, which is pending with the state Governor since last year.
As the House reassembled after first adjournment,Leader of the Opposition Vasundhara Raje said that her previous BJP regime set up commissions and committees including Justice Jasraj Chopra committee for Gurjars quota demand, but the Speaker Dipender Singh Shekhawat objected her abrupt reading and making an issue without permission.
This provoked the ruling members, who got up on their seats and raised slogans against previous BJP rule in which scores of Gurjars were killed in police firing.
BJP members led by Raje even sat on the floor of the House demanding clearance of the bill titled: Rajasthan SC/ST/OBC/EBC Reservation bill 2008,which is pending with the Governor.
The Speaker adjourned the House for the day after passing the budgetary demands of Agriculture and Veterinary departments, which the House passed without any debate amid acrimony.
