IPS officer Kuldeep Sharma,in a quashing petition filed on Thursday in the Gujarat High Court,levelled serious charges against Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
The Gujarat CID(crime) had recently reopened a 26-year-old alleged fake encounter case and booked Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Kuldeep Sharma — who was a front-runner for the state DGP’s job,but now heads the Gujarat State Sheep and Wool Development Corporation. Sharma,who holds the rank of ADGP,had been charged with murder,kidnapping,criminal conspiracy and destruction of evidence on Tuesday.
Sharma has challenged his posting with the Central Administration Tribunal after he was shunted as Managing Director of the Gujarat State Sheep and Wool Development Corporation in 2009.
Sharma’s brother Pradeep Sharma,an IAS officer,also has been arrested for alleged irregularities in the land allotment to Bhuj earthquake victims,while he was the district collector in Kutch. Pradeep was arrested while he was the Bhavnagar Municipal Commissioner in January 2010.
