Former Congress MP and veteran industrial labour activist Sanat Mehta, 90, was hospitalized in Vadodara following a cardiac arrest late on Tuesday night. The former Gujarat Finance Minister and freedom fighter was put on ventilator support at a private hospital in Vadodara and showed signs of improvement on Wednesday afternoon, family said.
According to the family, Mehta has been unwell for the last few days and suffered a cardiac arrest at around 10.30 PM on Tuesday. Although Mehta is in a critical state, his son, Sheetal Mehta said Mehta had shown signs of improvement on Wednesday. Sheetal said, “According to doctors, his organs except his brain is stable. However, there is no hemorrhage or clot in the brain either. He is on ventilation and the next three days are critical for recovery.”
