UP girl calls off wedding as groom fails to count

After initial rituals, the bride, who is a graduate, suspected the groom to be illiterate, the girl’s family members said.

The girl then asked him to count currency notes in which he failed after which she refused to marry him.

As a dispute arose between the two parties, a panchayat was called in the village after which the kin of the groom left for Bihar, Bansdeeh area S O, Vashisth Narayan said.
