Ghaziabad: Passerby shot dead during group clash over illegal power connection

A 25-year-old man died from bullet injury sustained when someone fired shots during a scuffle between two groups in Panchvati Colony of Loni Border police station area, police said today.

The incident took place last night when members of two communities got into a scuffle over illegal power connection, SHO Virender Yadav said.

During the scuffle, somebody opened fire and one bullet pierced in the chest of the man, identified as Rinku, who was returning home from work.

Injured Rinku was immediately rushed by his family members to GTB Hospital in East Delhi, where doctors pronounced him brought dead, the SHO said.

The body has been sent for an autopsy. An FIR has been lodged against 11 named and 25 unknown persons. A few persons have also been detained by police for interrogation, the police officer said.
