Taking note of accusations of providing faulty notebooks having incorrect facts and answers to students in Punjab government schools,the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday sought response from secretary (education) Director General School Education (Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan Authority) and J R Printing Press in Haryanas Sangrur.
Notices were issued on a PIL filed by a retired headmaster,Om Parkash Goyal,who had sought quashing of an order issued by the nodal officer-cum-district education officer of Mohali on March 15. According to order,all district education officers (Secondary Education) in Punjab were directed to ensure that students purchase only those practical notebooks,which are approved by Director (Secondary Education) Kamal Kumar Garg.
