CM Chandy slams attorney general for representing bar owners’ petition against state orders

Kerala CM said it was highy unethical that Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi has appeared for the bar hotel owners' petition in the Supreme Court challenging Kerala's new liquor policy.

Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Friday said it was highy unethical that Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi has appeared for the bar hotel owners’ petition in the Supreme Court challenging Kerala’s new liquor policy.

Chandy said the state government would convey its protest on the issue to the Union Government.

Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan also joined the issue saying that the incident showed that the BJP is also keen to help Kerala Finance Minister K M Mani who is facing trails in the bar bribery scandal.

Earlier, Achuthanandan had flayed the attorney general when the state vigilance and anti corruption bureau reportedly approached Rohatgi on charge sheeting Mani.
