Car driver who assisted Maoist leader T R Roopesh arrested

Police said the car driver Rajeesh had extended logistic support for Roopesh.

A week after the arrest of Maoist leader T R Roopesh, police has arrested the car driver in Kozhikode for providing conveyance for him.

Police identified the arrested as A Rajeesh, 32, hailing from Payyoli in Kozhikode rural district.

Police said Rajeesh had extended logistic support for Roopesh.

Rajeesh had taken Roopesh to various places. However, he has not been involved in any criminal case. Rajeesh is a person with Left leanings, police source said.

His arrest came close on the heels of the arrest of Roopesh and his wife Shyna from Coimbatore last week.

United States President Donald Trump Friday announced a new round of punishing tariffs, saying the US will impose 100% duties on imported branded drugs, 25% tariffs on heavy-duty trucks, and 50% tariffs on kitchen cabinets starting October 1.
