A businessman was shot at and robbed of Rs 40 lakh near his house in outer Delhi,police said today. The incident took place in Rohini last night when Sumit Jain was returning home from his office in Shiv Market. Two unidentified men riding a motorcycle stopped him and opened fire when he tried to resist their robbery attempt,a senior police official said. The robbers then fled with cash bag containing Rs 40 lakh. They also attacked Jain with stones. A neighbour,who witnessed the incident,rushed to the scene and took him to Mahavir hospital from where he was shifted to Ganga Ram hospital. A case has been registered.
