Badal kin encroaching on prime govt land: Jakhar

The Opposition Congress claimed to expose some “real” scams while holding a mock Assembly session on Tuesday. Leader of Opposition Sunil Jakhar alleged that Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal had breached House privilege while stating in the Assembly that he would not allow any encroachment of government land in the state.

“Sukhbir had feigned ignorance about the encroachment of prime government land in Abohar by his uncle’s son Paramjit Singh (Lalli Badal) and assured the House that he would not allow any encroachments. Nearly five kanals of land,however,has been occupied illegally by him on which a building is coming up,” Jakhar said while showing pictures,of what he claimed,were of the ongoing construction.

Jakhar said he had raised this issue last year claiming close relatives of the ruling family were illegally occupying part of the 18-acre prime land in the heart of the city worth nearly Rs 80 to Rs 100 crore.
