Awareness camp on job opportunities organised in Kupwara district

An awareness camp was organized at Deedarpora-Langate in frontier district of Kupwara to spread awareness about the various programmes of the Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) including those having job opportunities for locals.

Inaugurating the awareness camp MLA Abdul Rashid said setting up of such centres in far off areas would benefit the jobless youths and urged the KVIB to set up more centres of different trades in the area.

KVIB officials said under the Prime Minister’s Employment Guarantee Programme,50 different industrial units have been registered in the constituency for which Rs 65 lakh loan was provided to the entrepreneurs,out of which Rs 25 lakh subsidy was given by the Board.

They said during the current year,10 new industrial units were registered in the constituency.
