Authorities take action against 18 absentee teachers in Poonch

Deputy Chief Education Officer Mohammad Sadiq found that 18 teachers were absent from their duties,they said.

One teacher was suspended,12 recommended for suspension and five others chargesheeted for dereliction of duty in the district,officials said today.

During a surprise visit in various schools in Mendhar tehsil of the district yesterday,Deputy Chief Education Officer Mohammad Sadiq found that 18 teachers were absent from their duties,they said.

Sadiq suspended one teacher on the spot,the officials said,adding that he also issued instruction to authorities concerned for withholding the salary of the absentee teachers.
