Congress showed no sympathy for a sulking L K Advani after Narendra Modi was declared BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate. despite his opposition and said "Modi was the symptom of disease of communalism brought by Advani in national politics". He was asked about the Gujarat Chief Minister's rally in Rewari,Haryana,on Sunday. "Every political party is free to hold rallies anywhere. It will have no impact. He had addressed rallies earlier also. We had seen what impact it had in Karnataka," Ahmed said. Modi for Modi: Sushil says Advani can't read public mood Asked about the elevation of Modi brushing aside Advani's objections,Ahmed said,"we have no sympathy of Advani. It was he who had first injected the poison of communalism in Indian politics. Modi is a strong symptom of the disease of communalism brought by Advani in national politics." BJP leaders Sushma Swaraj,Ananth Kumar and Balbir Punj met Advani on Saturday. Irked over Modi being made the Prime Ministerial candidate,Advani had written a letter to BJP President Rajnath Singh expressing disappointment over his style of functioning. He also tweeted "is Rajnathji,with the help of RSS,using Modiji to sideline Advaniji & Sushmaji for his own chance when Modiji will be rejected in 2014?" Congress leader Anil Shastri in his series of tweets,however,slammed the "self-seeking BJP leaders" for "using" and then "humiliating" Advani. Apparently seeking to drive a wedge in the Opposition party,Shastri,who is a speical invitee in the Congress Working Committee,said "poor Advani ji ! What a downfall ! Self-seeking BJP leaders have taken over the party by humiliating a very senior leader." In his other tweets,he said "BJP leaders know how to use somebody for votes. They did so to Lord Ram and so many others. And now the turn has come of Advani ji" and reminded the Opposition party leaders that they should take lessons from Congressmen in this regard. "BJP leaders must take lessons from Congressmen who hold Sonia Gandhi in high regard and esteem. Can Advani ji expect this from his partymen? L.K. Advani has done so much for his party all his life but has been ignored and left alone. How ungrateful BJP leaders are.Advani is totally ignored by those BJP leaders who owe their present positions to him. What a shame for BJP to have such thankless people," Shastri said in his tweets.
