3 held after Bokaro minor alleges rape

The victim alleged Gosal gave the orders for the rape in retaliation for Harendra attempting to rape Nakabandi’s wife.

“It is not confirmed whether a panchayat was convened or not. All the accused, including the community head, have been arrested,” said Bokaro SP Jitendra Singh.

Singh said the incident was triggered by what transpired on July 6. “The girl’s brother attempted to rape a married woman. Her husband complained to the mukhiya, who asked him on July 7 to rape the man’s sister in retaliation,” said the SP, who added that two separate cases have been registered. The victim, who was allegedly raped Monday, was taken to a hospital and later discharged. Police are awaiting the medical results to confirm rape.
