13-year-old burnt to death in Pune district of Maharashtra

In a shocking incident 13-year-old Akash Mahalungkar was allegedly set on fire by unidentified men near his home in Chakan on Sunday. Mahalungkar succumbed to his injures late on Sunday night while undergoing treatment at the Sassoon Hospital

According to the police the incident happened when Mahalungkar had gone to the forested area near his home early on Sunday morning. The unidentified men allegedly poured kerosene on him and set him on fire and fled the scene. Hearing the boy scream, his parents came out of the house to see him ablaze.

Mahalungkar was shifted to the Sassoon hospital for treatment. Police are investigating the case.
