XLRI School of Business and Human Resources,one of the leading management institutes in the country to commemorate the Joy of Giving Week,has organised a platform for people to come together and participate in the national movement. Joy of Giving Week will be celebrated all over India from September 27- October 3,2009. A Give India initiative this event aims to encourage the spirit of volunteerism amongst corporates,NGOs,educational institutions,Government departments and ordinary individuals across the country. To support the nationwide initiative,XLRI also has planned various activities across the city to promote the acts of giving for a cause. As a part of the Week,XLRI is planning to mobilize donation and distribution of 400,000 pieces of wearable clothes to support the Power of Reuse initative,which is being carried out by the award-winning NGO,Goonj,across the country. The students and faculty of the institute have planned a number of activities,such as musical performances,nukkad naatak,school competitions,etc.,to involve the citizens in the clothes collection drive.
