Retirement age of Haryana workers may go up to 60 years

The retirement age of about nine lakh industrial workers in Haryana may be raised to 60 years as against 58 years at present,an official said.

The retirement age of about nine lakh industrial workers in Haryana may be raised to 60 years as against 58 years at present,an official said.

“We have invited objections from employers running factories with regard to raising retirement age to 60 years against the 58 years,which is a standard practice being followed by the companies in the state,” a senior official of Haryana Labour department said on Tuesday.

The industry will have to file their objections to retirement age provision within 60 days and thereafter the final decision on this proposal will be taken,official said.

The department has also decided to incorporate retirement age provision by amending rules in Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Rules 2012.

Haryana state minister for Labour and Employment Shiv Charan Sharma said as per notified rules,age of retirement or superannuation of workmen might be 60 years or such other age as may be agreed upon between employer and workman.
