Pandya’s widow sends legal notices to Modi ,Gujarat DGP

The wife of slain Haren Pandya has sent legal notices to the Home Minister,DGP and others.

The wife of slain former Gujarat Minister Haren Pandya has sent legal notices to the Home Minister,DGP and city Police Commissioner for allegedly spying on her and invading her privacy.

Jagruti Pandya sent the notices through her lawyer a couple of days back after she found out that two policemen were allegedly inquiring about her from the security guard of her house in Satellite Police Station area here.

“I have sent legal notices to the Home Minister,DGP,Ahmedabad Police Commissioner and Inspector of Satellite Police Station for spying on me and my family,” she said.

The Chief Minister Narendra Modi holds the Home portfolio.

“Nobody has a right to know about my personal life. I was out of station for some days when two policemen came and inquired about me from my watchman,” she alleged.

“After I returned,I caught them red-handed taking pictures of my house and inquiring about my movements from the watchman,” she said,adding these men were from the Special Branch of the police department.

“These men were working under direction of the city Police Commissioner,who in turn would be acting under the DGP and the Home Minister,” she claimed. According to Jagruti,she has asked the respondents to reply to the notices within 15 days.

The Gujarat High Court on August 29 dropped charges of murder against 12 persons convicted for assassination of Pandya,who was Minister of State for Home in the BJP Government,in 2003. However,it upheld the charges of criminal conspiracy and terrorism under POTA.
