Bihar govt to give Rs 1000 cr stipends

Bihar government will distribute stipends worth around Rs 1000 crore among students belonging to scheduled castes,scheduled tribes,extremely backward class and backward class during 2012-13. The money would be distributed among 1.25 crore students as pre-matric stipends,Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi told reporters here. The attendance of students from SC,ST,OBC,EBCs and other weaker sections of the society would be taken into account during distribution of the stipends,he said.
