Addressing the row over chanting ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia Thursday said issues like that had become the deciding factors to differentiate between individuals in the country.
The AAP leader said he dreamt of an inclusive society but the problem with inclusiveness was that “it doesn’t give you the chance to be exclusive, which at present is the foundation stone of our society”.
“I, as a politician and a leader, dream of inclusiveness,” he said.
Speaking at a symposium on ‘Making Delhi an inclusive city’, he said, “There are people who forcefully chant Bharat Mata ki Jai, there are people who say it from the heart. We will consider all those who do not say Bharat Mata ki Jai, when asked by us, as exclusive, rest all will be inclusive”.

“Exclusiveness is gained in the country by talking of eating or not eating beef, chanting Vande Mataram. Those who do not talk of Sanskrit cannot be inclusive,” said Sisodia.
The minister also said that the definition of development should be expanded to include “more than just roads, flyovers and glittering buildings”.
“Does our definition of development include schools, education… because there can be no development without these… we will have to… change our perception of what development is,” said Sisodia.
He also stressed on the need of creating an inclusive city where multiple societies could live in
harmony.
