A land surveyor was arrested from Gondal taluka of Rajkot after he was caught by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) taking Rs 15,000 bribe from a farmer for surveying his land. Babu Makwana, a farmer of Sadak-Pipaliya village of Gondal had applied with district inspector of land records (DILR) of Rajkot for surveying his land. But Dipen Kathrotiya, a government approved surveyor who was to conduct the land survey, demanded Rs 15,000 from Makwana to get the work done on priority basis. However, instead of paying up, Makwana filed a complaint with the ACB unit in Rajkot. Acting on the complaint, ACB police inspector KH Gohil laid a trap on the farm of Makwana and caught Kathrotiya red-handed when he accepted bribe money from the applicant.
