Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday launched a scathing attack against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonetisation decision.

While attributing the decision to “one person’s thinking”, he said, “I wonder if even the Finance Minister knew all about the demonetisation.”

He said, “One day the PM was laughing in his speech, and the next day he was crying. He should decide what he wants to do.”

While claiming that demonetisation had united the entire opposition ahead of the Parliament session, Rahul said, “I don’t think a lot of thought has been given to the demonetisation. Asserting that the decision had caused major inconvenience to ordinary citizens, he said there had been reports of 18-20 deaths already outside ATMs and banks.
