Maoists call for bandh in five states to protest against encounters

Protesting the series of encounters on the Andhra-Odisha border early this week, Maoists have called for bandh in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra on November 3.

In a statement issued by the party’s Central Committee, its spokesperson Pratap said the Maoists had suffered heavy damage after the encounters. However he hoped that the party would recover from the shock very soon.
