J&K Governor Vohra meets Rajnath Singh

Since the demise of Mufti Mohammed Sayeed on January 7, J&K has been without an elected government.

J&K Governor N N Vohra Tuesday met Home Minister Rajnath Singh and discussed the way forward in the state that has been under Governor’s Rule for a month. Sources said the Governor briefed the Home Minister about the political situation in the state, his discussions with stakeholders and some administrative issues.

Since the demise of Mufti Mohammed Sayeed on January 7, J&K has been without an elected government.

Last week, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti demanded that the Centre create a “conducive atmosphere” through confidence building measures for the state, failing which she would not form the government with the BJP.
